In 2019 Malgorzata finished her PhD in the BIODIV Doctoral Program, University of Porto, jointly supervised with Miguel Carneiro. Her PhD focused on the genetic basis of several traits that evolved during artificial selection on birds, namely on canaries and pigeons.

Currently she is Assistant Professor at the University of Montréal, Canada.
